We moved to Beaver Run RV Park in Metter, Georgia. Not sure if I found the place on Google, Hipcamp or The Dyrt – but these are the main ways I find places to stay. This is where we found out that “Everything’s Better and Metter”. Metter was a quiet and quaint place. We learnt that it is harder to get things that you need when you are remote. The grocery store was far away, and we decided to use the fridge that was in the car for our grocery shopping. That way, a long trip kept our groceries fresh. It was also hard to find food at a restaurant or even fast food if you didn’t want to cook. We also decided that our bathroom tent was too difficult for Herb to get in and out of, and it was difficult to set up.
We were able to get rid of more stuff in this location, and then Herb decided that if we had a pickup truck, we could use the truck to store more things, and therefore, there would be less for me to have to pack and unpack at each location. Since we had just purchased the Toyota 4Runner, I was not open to getting a new vehicle; however, the idea of having less work was appealing. Herb was told that if he could get an equal trade for our vehicle, he could get a pickup truck.
In typical husband style, Herb found a perfect pickup truck for us, and the trade was made. We were struggling to figure out how to get the tag, title and registration for out of state, and there were some hiccups with that. At this time, Herb also started looking to trade our trailer in for a larger toy hauler. He found a person willing to make this trade in Florida. At that point, we decided to return to Florida to meet this guy in Jacksonville and upgrade to a slightly larger trailer.
