Rollin’ Home RV Park — Homeward Bound
September 19 – October 3, 2026
September 19, 2026 — Hello, Utah
71°F / 45°F
We arrived at Rollin’ Home RV Park in Nephi, Utah today. The park is really nice, with spacious lots, clean bathrooms and showers, and staff who seem really friendly. We’re at about 5,177 feet, and it was a beautiful, cool night with a clear sky.
It was much easier moving without Poe, but I missed her and had tears a few times during the drive. It was nice to arrive without cat fur all over me and without smelling like a litter box, but that doesn’t make missing her any easier.
I mostly unpacked us but still have a few things that can wait until tomorrow.

I woke up today feeling sore. I guess that’s what happens when you haven’t been moving every two weeks for a full two months.
I got a little bit more organized today, but we’re still not completely set up and ready to cook.

81°F / 53°F — Thunderstorms overnight
Today was a busy work day. I’m hoping to get our gray water situation set up today or tomorrow so I can start cooking.
One of the problems with not cooking is that when we’re in some of these little towns, including this one, ordering food and bringing it home often means we end up with something missing or the wrong order. I’m looking forward to just grocery shopping and preparing some food the way I want it.

73°F / 49°F — Passing showers and storms
I had another busy work day today, but I was able to get the gray water set up. So now we can get groceries and I can prepare a meal again.
We’re continuing to have wrong orders for breakfast and dinner everywhere we go, which makes me even more ready to get back to cooking for ourselves.

79°F / 49°F
Although today was also a busy work day, I had to increase my work days and client load since Herb is still not working.
I was able to make a delicious pastina for dinner, which was nice and comforting on a cold night. Since I was able to help Herb set up the gray water yesterday, I now know how to do it moving forward. I won’t have to wait for him at our next move.

82°F / 54°F
Tonight’s dinner was an easy spaghetti with tomatoes and spinach. It’s one of my favorite dishes to eat and so easy to make.
I had another busy workday today, and I’m looking forward to the weekend. I feel like every day of the week I get more and more tired.
September 25, 2026
84°F / 57°F
We have made it to Friday!
I finished work today and fell asleep before I even did my progress notes for the day. I woke up and it was past dinner time.
I cannot wait to sleep in tomorrow morning.
September 26, 2026
83°F / 58°F
I had a really nice sleep-in this morning. It was a little warmer during the day today, so it was nice to catch up on a TV show, get the blog done from Wyoming, and have a great conversation with Caleb and Herb on the phone.
I also took care of Caleb’s flight for winter break and a few other things that needed to be caught up on.
I’m looking forward to the return of SNL tonight.
This time next week, we will be moving to Littlefield, Arizona. The weather looks like it’s going to be a bit warmer there, which I’m not looking forward to, but I am looking forward to seeing somewhere new and then moving again to our winter location.
We still have some things we need to take care of during that six-month stay. We need to really organize the van, figure out how we want to arrange our totes and other outside gear, and find the best way to organize our inside gear so that moving is less of a challenge.
Most importantly, what I would like to do during those six months is organize the next part of our journey with destinations, climate, and Caleb’s holidays in mind.

80°F / 56°F
Today was a nice, easy day. I slept in, watched some TV, and made dinner.
I also planned for next week, got our grocery pickup order ready for tomorrow, and took care of our medications for the week.
It was nice to have a relaxing day before another busy workweek. I’m looking forward to getting through the week and then moving on to our next stop in Littlefield, Arizona.
September 28, 2026
68°F / 51°F — Mostly cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms
Today was a beautiful, cold, rainy day. It was a little difficult to hear my last client because of the rain, which is one of the drawbacks of working in a trailer like ours.
It was the perfect evening for chili, and that’s what we had for dinner.
It was a long day, but one I really enjoyed. There were a lot of people coming and going at the RV park today, giving the place a busy feel.
All in all, it was a good Monday and a nice way to start the week.
We leave this Saturday for Arizona, so we have a busy few days ahead of us before our next move.

73°F / 47°F — Intervals of bright sunshine with a shower in places
Today was a good day, although I was very busy with clients.
Herb had a bad migraine and decided to take a shower to see if it would help. Unfortunately, he got sick while in the shower and ended up skipping dinner.
It was a chilly evening, so I enjoyed a nice, warm bowl of pastina for dinner.
September 30, 2026
77°F / 47°F — Pleasant with plenty of sunshine
Today was a little exhausting. I had a fully booked day, but as the day progressed, I had people cancel. It’s hard for me to plan my day and stay on track when that happens. The sessions I did have went really well, though.
Meanwhile, Herb is still not feeling well. He’s had a migraine for two days now, and it has been bad enough that he’s been throwing up and generally just not doing well. Because of that, he’s been doing less than usual.
It’s also a distraction for me because I worry about whether he’s okay and what he could be doing differently to make himself feel better.
I had a few things I was relying on him to do today that he obviously wasn’t able to get to. Even so, he did manage to pick up some groceries, get an oil change, and take care of some repairs on the van.
Since we’re leaving in just a few days for Arizona, it’s nice to know the van is in good shape for the move.
It’s always hard when you’re not feeling well, but in this lifestyle, being sick can make everything so much harder.
October 1, 2026
80°F / 49°F — Warmer, with plenty of sunshine
Today ended up being a good day. It was busy with lots of clients, and at the end of the day I got to call my brother, my friend Beth, and my mom.
It’s both my nieces’ birthday month and my cousin’s birthday month, so it was nice to connect with everyone.
Herb was feeling better today, and with his energy coming back, he was able to get a lot done. I made dinner, which he enjoyed.
Unfortunately, after dinner, I started to feel really sick. I was having a lot of nausea, followed by heartburn and an upset stomach. It had started a little before dinner but definitely got worse afterward.
I wish I knew what was going on because it doesn’t seem to be improving overall. I think I felt fine for most of the time we’ve been here, if I’m remembering correctly. I don’t think it was anything I ate, but I’m not sure what brought it on.
Anyway, I have tomorrow to hopefully feel better. We’re moving Saturday, and I’m very glad that Herb is feeling better. We should have enough time tomorrow to start packing and get ready for our next move.

85°F / 52°F — Very warm, with plenty of sunshine
I saw a few clients today, so I was finished early enough for Herb and me to take one last beautiful scenic drive around Utah before heading off to Arizona tomorrow.
We saw some gorgeous sights as we drove through the national forest. It was such a lovely way to spend our last afternoon here.
Now, though, we have everything to do tomorrow morning before we can get out of here and move on to Littlefield, Arizona.
October 3, 2026 — Move Day
Nephi, Utah: 87°F / 53°F — Mostly sunny and very warm
Littlefield, Arizona: 100°F / 70°F — Mostly sunny and hot
Packing up this morning went better than I thought it would. But by the time we got to Arizona, it was hot, hot, hot. Unpacking took a long time, and eventually I went for a drive with Herb so we could cool off in the van for a while. We watched SNL live at 8:30, which was weird and funny. Definitely not the usual time we’re used to watching it, but it made for a pretty entertaining end to a very hot move day.
And just like that, we’ve left Utah and arrived in Arizona.
Goodbye, Utah
Our time at Rollin’ Home was a good transition between Wyoming and Arizona. We had a comfortable place to settle in, get ourselves organized, get the gray water system figured out, and get back to cooking.
There were busy workdays, rainy days, sick days, good days, and a lot of little everyday moments in between.
We also had our first real stretch of traveling without Poe. Moving was physically easier without her, but emotionally, her absence was still very noticeable.
Now we’re heading into a very different kind of weather in Littlefield, Arizona. The next stop is warmer—much warmer—and we’ll have six months ahead of us at our winter location to figure out how we want to organize the van, our gear, and, most importantly, the next part of our journey.
For now, though, we’re here.
Arizona, here we come.
